Hope

Hope is focused on the Giver not the Gifts

I got these from Heaven, and because of his laws I disdain them, and from him I hope to get them back again. (2 Maccabees 7:11)

Hope is full of Immortality

Though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them for ever (Wisdom 3:4-8).

One cannot but choose to die at the hands of men and to cherish the hope that God gives of being raised again by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life (2 Maccabees 7:14)!
