Secret Manna

In this dark vale of tears, I wish solely to feed upon this secret manna, this delicious substance. -- St Cajetan

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.' (Revelation 2:17)

DESIRE FOR THINGS

The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isaiah 58:11).

Focus on the Giver and not the Gifts

Others are the ones sown among thorns; they are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world, and the delight in riches, and the desire for other things, enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful (Mark 4:18-19).

Do to others what the Lord has done to you

Pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. (Isaiah 58:10)

Desire to see one of the days of the Lord

The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it.

And they will say to you, `Lo, there!' or `Lo, here!' Do not go, do not follow them.

For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day.

Desire to be with Christ

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If it is to be life in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two.

My desire is to depart and be with Christ, 

for that is far better.

But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. Convinced of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again. -- Philippians 1:21-26
